Employers, are you struggling to recruit new talent into the business? Do your existing staff need additional training to support business growth and ultimately success?

With GCSE and A Level results just around the corner, many employers are thinking about where their next recruits are coming from and if they have the skills to succeed. But did you know that you can train your own talent - in fact South West Wiltshire employers are embracing Advanced Apprenticeships as numbers are up 60%!

In South West Wiltshire, the number of Advanced Apprenticeship starts (equivalent to A Levels) has increased by over 60% in the last three years! In 2016/17 there were over 470 Level 3 apprenticeship starts compared to 290 in 2013/14.

This is in part because, there are now so many new industries apprentices can be trained in and huge financial savings to be made by employers looking to grow their own talent.

For example, Wiltshire based, Goughs Solicitors (with offices in Chippenham, Corsham, Calne, Trowbridge, Melksham and Devizes) see apprenticeships as a big part of their future. From September 2018, they are giving young people the opportunity to study a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship and are hoping to progress their successful apprentices to Solicitor Apprenticeships – which would include a fully funded law degree for the right applicant!

Did you know that small businesses are eligible for funding which pays 90% of apprenticeship training and certification costs, on top of other incentives available?
Many employers are failing to understand and take advantage of the range of benefits achieved through employing apprentices or the plethora of job roles that qualify.
