With the latest Brexit deadline looming and our relationship with the EU still undecided, now is a time of economic uncertainty for people running a business.
Regardless of the outcome of the forthcoming deliberations, if you are self-employed or run a business there are positive steps you can take to help prepare for the potential eventualities.
There will be refreshments and networking either side of a series of presentations from experts in both trading with the EU and employing EU citizens.
Our keynote speaker will be Marcus Broix from international trade advisors Trade with Europe Ltd. Since 2016 they have developed innovative strategies to help UK companies circumvent trade barriers and access new markets in order to not only 'Brexit-proof' their business, but also grow it.
Attendees will also hear from two specialists in immigration law who have been advising local companies on employing EU citizens. They can help your business plan for your current and future staffing requirements.

About the speakers
Marcus Broix, Trade with Europe
Marcus Broix runs the Bristol-based company Trade with Europe. They provide ready-made solutions for UK businesses to grow their export markets. In addition, they have developed a strategy to legally remain in the EU, even after Brexit. Their cross border services include a network of service providers, such as fulfilment warehouses, e-commerce specialists, virtual/serviced offices, accountants, lawyers, etc. in the UK as well as in the Netherlands and Germany.
Tamara Rundle, Redstart Law
Tamara is a Consultant Immigration Solicitor, an Adviser with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner and the Southern Convenor for the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association. She has been in practice for over 14 years and works across corporate and private clients.
Tamara does refugee work in her spare time, teaching English to vulnerable women in the local area and advising as part of the Refugee Legal Service-Athens to represent people escaping war to join their relatives all over Europe.
She is a regular commentator on Brexit and its impact on EU citizens and British business. With a strong practical focus, she provides experienced advice and support in this frequently changing area of law.
Lee Campbell, Battens Solicitors
Lee specialises in providing Immigration Advice to workers and their employers looking to move and work in Bath and the South West.
Before moving to the private sector Lee was employed by the Home Office where he gained extensive experience in immigration law often making decisions upon people’s entitlement to remain in the UK. He has therefore seen the story from both sides and can advise people of not only what to do but also what to look out for when applying to work in the UK.
Battens specialise in bespoke immigration advice to both companies and individuals, providing the only full service immigration team over much of the South West.
