Chippenham company is UK leader in plastic pipes
Wavin, the UK’s leading manufacturer of plastic pipe systems, recently outlined to local MP Michelle Donelan its investment plans for its Chippenham site.
Wavin has invested over £17m on the 42-acre site, which employs over 500 people. She learnt about a further £7m that Wavin is currently investing in the manufacturing plant and tooling, as well as how the recent expansion has provided additional space and flexibility for future growth of innovative new products.
As part of Wavin’s overall dedication to sustainable manufacturing processes, the manufacturer’s Chippenham site is also at the cutting-edge of using recycled material in plastic pipe production. Michelle learnt about Wavin’s unique Recycore technology, which allows the company to create pipes that feature 50% recycled materials, including old double-glazing window frames and other waste assets from the housing sector.
