Secured through the Swindon and Wiltshire Business Growth unit, this initiative, aimed at upskilling the workforce in Swindon and Wiltshire, seeks dedicated and experienced training providers to partner with us in delivering high-quality training across a range of sectors.
About the Skills Bootcamps
The Skills Bootcamps are designed to provide intensive, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, offering individuals the opportunity to build up specific skills required in the job market. These bootcamps will cover key areas including Logistics, Leadership and Management, Digital Core (Cyber), and Green Skills (Sustainability and Carbon Management). Each bootcamp will blend in-person and online learning methods to cater to diverse learning preferences and needs.
Objectives and Benefits
The primary aim of the Skills Bootcamps is to address the current and future skills-related challenges faced by our local businesses and workforce. By doing so, we aim to:
- Fill employment vacancies and reduce skills gaps in critical sectors.
- Support new skilling and upskilling of the existing workforce.
- Enhance the employability and career progression of participants.
- Contribute to the region’s economic development and strategic priorities, including achieving Net Zero and supporting the Levelling Up agenda.
Call to Action: Express Your Interest
Wiltshire Council will be inviting training providers with a proven track record in delivering effective and engaging training programmes to express their interest in partnering with us. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a transformative initiative that will make a significant impact on the local economy and workforce.
We also want to hear from local businesses who are interested in upskilling their workforce, as well as recruiting and training new staff in hard to fill rolls.
