Recruiting apprentices is an effective way to grow your own talent and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. Apprenticeships have been around a long time but the modern apprenticeship is now available across a variety of sectors and at all levels. Despite this many business are not aware of the benefits an apprentice can bring or are struggling to fill the vacancies they have.
The aim of this project is to understand what the current barriers may be for a young person when considering/taking up an apprenticeship, and a business to offering apprenticeships or filling their apprenticeship vacancies.
To do this, Wiltshire Council aim to undertake focus groups, survey, and utilise other data already captured from and with the following 2 groups:
1. Young People - College students/6th Form/U16’s Y10/11
2. Employer/Business
