The Theatre Artists Fund has been set up to provide emergency support for theatre workers and freelancers across the UK who need urgent and critical financial support due to the impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) on the theatre sector.
The aim is to provide short-term relief for those from underrepresented groups disproportionately affected by the crisis.
First launched on 6 July 2020, this fund has raised £4.8 million to date and supported nearly 5,000 applicants. If eligible, applicants can be considered for a one-off emergency grant of £1,000, which they can use towards living costs.
Various freelancer roles are eligible, including actors, directors, producers, choreographers, comedians, composers, dancers, magicians, set and scene designers, wardrobe professionals, make-up artists and puppet makers.
Those who lost work because of productions/theatres being forced to close over the Christmas period due to the Tier 3/4 restrictions are encouraged to apply.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 13 January 2021 (12:00 GMT).
