Swindon-based insurance company Zurich has awarded Skanska a £37.2m contract to build a new office building in the town, providing 100,000 sq ft of office space over six floors, with a terrace and a function space at roof level.
The new-build office development, which will take almost two years to complete, will be the anchor project in the of the Swindon Kimmerfields masterplan. The site is located on a long-vacant, cleared development site in the town centre.
The major project demonstrates Zurich’s commitment to Swindon where it has a long history as one of the town’s largest employers. It will play an important role in the ongoing regeneration of the town centre, providing over 950 staff with a modern workspace designed to enhance their wellbeing and the local environment.
