Skills Support for the Workforce (SSW) is a programme developed to upskill employees within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Swindon and Wiltshire. SSW provides recognised, accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to enhance your employees’ skills, increase the competitiveness of your business and boost the local economy.


WISE Ability Ltd is part of Serco’s network of expert organisations chosen to deliver the SSW programme in your area. Because SSW is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), we can support your workforce at no extra cost to your business.


WISE Ability Ltd, an Employment and Training charity, is aiming to make more people aware of mental health problems and give them the skills and confidence to support others at work and at home through the *fully-funded and online Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems qualification.


This year, 1 in 4 people will suffer from some kind of mental health issue and with the added stress and anxiety created by the COVID-19 pandemic, WISE Ability are passionate about supporting people to improve their knowledge, confidence and skills in helping someone experiencing a mental health issue. The Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems is designed to develop a learners understanding about a wide range of different mental health disorders, which could be used to support their role in the workplace or where they may work or interact with individuals with mental health problems.


This comprehensive course will take you through some common mental health-related illnesses such as anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and depression.


WISE Ability, Head of Operations, Carrie Brolan, said:

The qualification can be completed online, and all participants are given access to our online portal through their own personal login and password. Once logged in you can access your course materials, lessons, resources and assignments.  Additionally, when studying you will have access to your own WISE Ability personal tutor with in-depth knowledge and experience.
