Over the last 12 months, thousands of young people in Wiltshire missed out on the opportunity to gain an important insight into the world of work as face-to-face work experience programmes were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub is asking local employers to help address this situation by offering virtual work experience opportunities in June or July that will enable young people to learn about your business and sector.
The Careers Hub is working with Speakers for Schools to help you provide a safeguarded and seamless online experience that will inspire and inform young people and help develop their career readiness and employability skills.
Offering a virtual encounter also gives you a great opportunity to increase the visibility of your organisation, support staff development and attract future talent.
It’s easy to set things up and the flexibility offered by the technology means your virtual experience opportunity could take place over an hour or two or across several days – whatever works best for your organisation and staff.
