Launch of Made Smarter Innovation Sustainability Accelerator (UK)

The Made Smarter Innovation Sustainability Accelerator is a national programme designed to accelerate sustainable manufacturing in the UK and harness state-of-the-art technologies to advance environmental impact.

The programme offers a range of benefits, including grant funding. Selected companies will be provided with £75,000 to develop challenge-focused solutions. Up to four companies will get access to additional £100,000 funding for continued development of their prototype within a pilot environment.

Applications are invited from technology innovators from the UK ecosystem who will be interested in developing solutions to some of the UK’s core industrial challenges. Applicants must be considered either as an early-stage company or scaleup business with a proposed solution, product or service at the Technology Readiness Level 4-5 (TRL 4-5).

The technology solutions that will be considered for are:

Future networks and advanced digital infrastructure (5G and the internet of things).
Immersive technologies (Extended reality – virtual, augmented, mixed reality and haptics).
Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI & ML).
Distributed ledger technologies (blockchain).
Quantum technologies.

Applicants will need to illustrate technological expertise that can be applied to the industry challenges set in a way that has the potential to propel these challenges forward. The proposed solutions will need to sit within the above technology categories to be considered.

The deadline for applications is 1 April 2024.
