Iconic centre
to be prepared for new use
Plans have been
submitted to upgrade the listed former Renault Distribution Centre in Swindon
to prepare it for a new occupier.
Knight Frank has
applied to Swindon Borough Council, on behalf of landlord AEW UK, to strip out
the remnants of more recent uses of the Foster Associates-designed development,
now known as the Spectrum Building.
The 1982-built,
24,000 sq m scheme in Mead Way was converted to new uses in 2010 including a
soft play area called KidzAbout with adventure golf course and a warehouse for
Cooper Tyres.
