Running over several months, the project firstly aims to gather insight into employers’ perceptions of apprenticeships - what they know, what would make employers engage further support and what barriers do employers face in recruiting apprentices in the region.
This information will feed into a ‘SWLEP apprenticeship map’ that aims to signpost employers to the right advice, at the right time on their journey to beginning an apprenticeship programme linked to their business's future success.
A ‘Rethink Apprenticeship’ campaign will run alongside the research. The campaign aims to dispel myths around apprenticeships and showcase to employers, young people and parents that the right apprenticeships can play a key role in supporting local businesses, Swindon & Wiltshire citizens and the overall LEP economy.
If you’re an employer based in Swindon or Wiltshire that has had a good or bad experience with apprenticeships, SupplyTrain would love to hear from you. It’s important to the future success of apprenticeships in the region that we identify good and bad practice. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with an overview of your apprenticeship experience and contact details so we can call you back to gather further insight.
