EU Exit: Guidance for Businesses

Doing business with Europe has changed. You need to follow new rules on exports, imports, tariffs, data and hiring. Read this guide first and explore our latest news and announcement in the EU exit Hub.
By The Growth Hub Team,

From 1 January 2021, new rules apply to all UK businesses trading with Europe. This follows the end of the Brexit transition period, and the UK’s exit from the EU single market and customs union.

The SWLEP Growth Hub is here to guide you through what this means for your business. You will need to understand what the changes mean for you if you are:

  • importing or exporting goods from the EU
  • moving goods to or from Northern Ireland
  • providing business services to the EU
  • travelling to the EU
  • living and working in the EU

Use this quick checker tool to identify the specific steps your business needs to take. You will receive a series of actions to ensure you can adapt.

Brexit transition helplines - a list of key business transition actions and the relevant helpline, organised by theme and key actions.

HMRC runs regular webinars on a variety of topics that businesses need help with. The HMRC YouTube channel also provides useful information regarding customs processes and trading goods.

Visit the government's transition website for all the latest information on the EU Exit.
