About the Programme

Six LEADER Local Action Groups (LAGs) cover all the rural areas of Swindon and Wiltshire, making grant funding available to all types of rurally-based businesses. The LEADER Programme is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), delivered nationally by DEFRA in partnership with local authorities and communities. Wiltshire Council acts as the Accountable Body overseeing four of the six Wiltshire LAGs These provide European funding to create jobs, stimulate new business start-ups and growth in rural areas. 
  • LEADER is open for applications until 31st March 2019
  • Grant from  £5,000 upwards

Grant rate: up to 40% of eligible costs (higher rates may be available to non-profit organisations in exceptional circumstances).

LEADER has six national priorities:

 
  • Increasing farm productivity
  • Micro and small enterprises and farm diversification
  • Rural tourism
  • Provision of rural services
  • Cultural and heritage activity
  • Increasing forestry productivity
If you need to develop your business please contact the Programme Manager for your Local Action Group before completing an Outline Application.
