The Catapult Programme - Bridging the gap between business and academia

Catapults are bridging the gap between business and academia, helping to turn great ideas into reality, by providing access to world-class research and development facilities and expertise that would otherwise be out of reach for many businesses in the UK.

Rapid progress has been made by Innovate UK in creating the Catapult network – ten Catapults are up and running with an aspiration from UK Government (based on recommendations from Hermann Hauser in 2014) to create up to 30 Catapults by 2030.

The High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult is the catalyst for the future growth and success of advanced manufacturing in the UK. Our 7 Technology and Innovation centres work with companies of all sizes to bridge the gap in – and accelerate the activity between – technology concept and commercialisation. Our centres offer access to leading edge equipment, expertise and an environment of company collaboration.
