The Bluelight eTendering site was launched in November 2004, to give suppliers easier access to tenders and quotations published by the Police and Fire and Rescue services. The system is a complete Internet based solution, meaning no software resides on either the buyer’s or the supplier’s computers. It provides both buyers and suppliers with a secure, cost effective and easy-to-use eTendering solution for the advertisement of new tender opportunities, online quotation and tenders, secure auditable message function ensuring a consistent and non-discriminatory competitive process which is more efficient and easy to manage for all. This e-Tendering portal is used by most of the UK Police forces and many Fire & Rescue Services to publish and manage their quotations and tenders.
