With all the hype around the “great resignation” and skills shortages, it’s easy to focus on the challenges of recruiting staff at the moment. However, if we look at this a different way, greater movement in the labour market creates opportunities for employers to attract the talent they need to take their business forwards.

This 3-hour workshop will give you the tools and confidence to design and implement an effective recruitment process – and, perhaps more importantly, focuses on how to support new and existing team members by creating an environment in which they can thrive.

• how to prepare and plan for recruitment – how do you know what you need?

• understand and recognise difference between job description, job specification, and job advert, and how to write them

• know how to advertise vacancies effectively to attract the right candidates – making your opportunities stand out and highlighting the key benefits. From flexible working to employee benefits, what are today’s candidates expecting?

• understand how to conduct a fair and effective selection process using different methods to improve outcomes

• understand how to implement an effective induction process which enables individuals to settle in and start performing quickly

• pick up tips on how to retain valued team members – sharing ideas which don’t blow the budget.

We will finish with a light lunch and opportunities to network with other business owners and managers.
