Swindon's new highly-mechanised Amazon depot, complete with robots that move the parcels around, has opened recently in time for the pre-Christmas surge in gift purchasing and delivery.
Employees starting a job there before 11 December can also receive up to £2,000 as a sign on bonus, according to company advertising.
Retail products from across the south are being processed, wrapped and stamped in buildings which are the size of six football pitches. The facility is four storeys high and employs around 2,000 people.
