Amazon is understood to be the future occupier of a huge new warehouse in Swindon.  The green light has been given for the building of the base at Symmetry Park which will provide 50,849 square metres of warehousing space.

The new building - the size of six football pitches internally - will be built by Panattoni and a Belgian partner company LU UK VI Sarl.  It is is part of a £400m investment that will create a substantial number of new jobs.

Birmingham-based Panattoni describes itself as “a speculative developer”, but in this case it told Swindon Borough Council it has a client lined up to take on the site, and it has been designed to that company’s specifications.
