Plans to convert a vacant office block in Swindon town centre
into new homes are set to move ahead following its sale by Telereal Trillium.
North Star House, which until July 2020 was occupied by BT
and the British Computer Society, has been sold to Shaviram Group, a property
development and investment company based in London.
The North Star House site comprises a 1980s, 157,700 sq ft
office block and substantial car parking of approximately 500 spaces. Telereal
Trillium secured PDR consent for office to residential conversion to provide
272 new homes including 158 studio flats, with 78 one-bedroom and 36
two-bedroom apartments.
