Wiltshire-based Good Energy, the clean power sharing company, has selected two partners to work with on the design, installation, operation and maintenance of commercial battery storage projects. The partners, BELECTRIC and Powerstar, both specialists in renewable energy engineering, have been appointed following a tender and procurement process.
Dr. Randall Bowen, Sales and Commercial Director of Good Energy, said: “Storage is one of the key enablers in the move from supplying to sharing energy. Not only does it help resolve the issue of variability in renewable power — a benefit to the grid — it benefits customers practically too.
“Its attraction to businesses is in the control and independence batteries can offer, allowing them to store, share and use clean power at times when it is not only cleaner, but more cost effective. Having the right partners in place to deliver this for our customers is a really important step in realizing Good Energy’s strategic vision.”
The new partnerships ready Good Energy for future battery storage projects, putting in place a key part of the framework for delivery. It follows a number of key appointments involved in the development of battery storage proposition, across the company’s product, strategy, partnerships and business services teams. A number of these hires have come from Big Six suppliers, including Tim Wynn-Jones into the newly created Head of Energy Solutions Sales role in October.
