Wiltshire based Green Machine are very proud to have been recognised for their long term commitment to ending digital poverty as well as having a brilliant eco-friendly ethos and providing people with access to recycled technology with a coveted Blue Peter award which they can display as a symbol of their green achievements and selfless ambition as a company.
The company which is 10 years old started a computer amnesty after Christmas across Wiltshire, Berkshire and Dorset, working with the local fire stations and businesses as drop off points and has collected over 500 pieces of equipment to recycle for use by our local community.
Green Machine uses the money made from recycling equipment to invest in apprenticeships teaching young people how to recycle equipment and the companies strong CSR reputation has attracted interest from Social Enterprise UK, which led them to win decommissioning contracts with large blue chip organisations such as Vodaphone, Bupa, WH Smith and Land Securities.
Managing Director Simon Crisp, was thrilled with the award and said: “It is great to be recognised for something we are passionate about doing with a Blue Peter award as this is something easily recognisable by everyone, including the my children and my Grandma.”
