Corsham-based Knorr-Bremse has been awarded a major, long-term remote condition monitoring contract by Siemens Mobility.
As Knorr-Bremse is systematically building its expertise in the field of digital Maintenance-as-a-Service (MaaS) for the rail industry, the company will be responsible for providing remote condition monitoring of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems on 172 trains built and maintained by Siemens Mobility for UK operator South Western Railway.
This is the first time anywhere in the world that a leading systems supplier has cooperated with a major vehicle manufacturer to provide remote condition monitoring of HVAC systems.
