Wiltshire Council, in partnership with Wiltshire College & University Centre and funded by the Department for Education, is proud to announce the launch of a new series of Skills Bootcamps. These flexible, fully-funded courses offer a fast track to employment and career progression, focusing on the most in-demand skills across key sectors. The courses are designed to enhance skills that address workforce shortages, enabling learners to thrive in today’s job market or supporting employers in upskilling their existing workforce.

Flexible and Accessible Learning

The Skills Bootcamps, lasting up to 16 weeks, are available to anyone aged 19 or older, with the right to work in the UK. The courses combine online and in-person learning, offering flexibility for learners to study one day a week over 12 weeks. With a focus on practical, sector-specific skills, participants will receive the training needed to succeed in industries facing critical skills gaps. Whether you’re looking to advance in your current role or switch to a new career, the Skills Bootcamps provide a direct path to opportunity.

Starting from the week commencing 21st October 2024, the courses available include:

  • Leadership & Management (Level 3): Equip yourself with leadership skills to enhance team performance and drive organisational success.
  • Sustainability & Carbon Management (Level 3): Learn to integrate sustainable practices and manage carbon footprints, addressing the increasing demand for green skills.
  • Digital Core – Cyber Security (Level 4): Gain advanced cyber security knowledge, crucial for today’s digital workforce.

A Direct Route to Employment

Upon completing the course, learners will receive industry-recognised qualifications and be guaranteed an interview with an employer seeking candidates with the newly acquired skills. This direct link between training and employment ensures that learners can swiftly transition from education to the workplace.

For employers, the Skills Bootcamps offer a unique opportunity to upskill existing staff, ensuring businesses remain competitive and future-ready. With only 10% of the cost covered by SMEs and 30% by larger organisations, these courses provide excellent value while addressing workforce needs.
