Swindon-based Nationwide Building Society has bought the Trilogy building in Swindon’s Kembrey Park through local agents Loveday and JLL.
Nationwide recently announced its expansion into the commercial banking market and overall expansion is taking place.
Trilogy, which totals 76,000 sq ft, comprises a prominent headquarters office building situated on Kembrey Park and within close proximity to Swindon town centre.
Bradley Forbes of Loveday said: “We are delighted to have negotiated this sale, which represents the largest office disposal in Swindon for over 15 years. This transaction means availability of offices within the town is now at an all-time low.”
Giles Weir of JLL added: “The continued expansion of Nationwide is welcome news for the town at the present time and is an indicator of the fact that Swindon still maintains a diverse economy.
“Hopefully this deal will spark some life into what has been a difficult period for the local office market and will lead to an encouraging and resurgent 2018/19. We are already seeing increased activity levels from the corporate sector with several large requirements circulating, which is an encouraging sign.”
