Swindon Borough Council is reported to be anticipating that a £16.5m investment in the previously unused Kimmerfields town centre site will snowball and attract further investment to the town for years to come.
The 20-acre site, home to Zurich's new in-construction headquarters, is currently hidden behind grey hoarding but work is due to begin this year to transform the area and fulfil the council's ambition.
In a reported post on Facebook, Swindon Borough Council explained that the investment will bring in a potential £44m of economic benefit but will require private investment to realise this ambition.
