Two firms who work in the Swindon area were crowned as among the ‘best in the West’ at the FSB ‘Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019’ held in Taunton this week.
The South West finals of the national FSB contest took place at Somerset County Cricket Ground on Thursday and were designed to find the best small businesses from Gloucestershire to Cornwall.
Among those winning recognition were the Dr Julian Medical Group, who won the Digital Innovation Award. They are run by Swindon hospital doctor Dr Julian Nesbitt which works providing online mental healthcare support in Bristol, Swindon and the wider South West. Also recognised were the Verelogic Group, from Swindon, who were shortlisted in the very competitive International Business of the Year Category.
Roger Tarrant, who is the FSB Regional Chairman for the South West, said the event highlighted the strength, creativity and wide-ranging nature of the local SME sector.
“It really was a fabulous day and it was amazing to hear all about the fantastic nominees. The businesses in the South West are just so diverse - they really do cover the whole spectrum. I hope we can now go on to see some South West winners at the national finals in London.”
