The TechSwindon summit also serves to provide an opportunity for connection, collaboration and knowledge sharing with the wider tech community, nationally.

With plans for a one-day, in-person event curtailed by COVID-19 the team at Tech Swindon saw the opportunity to expand the Summit, into a week-long virtual festival of ideas; increasing the number of topics covered and reaching out to a wider audience.

TechSwindon is now expecting over 2,000 attendees from across the globe to see more of technology developed locally.

Lucy Paine TechSwindon Ecosystem Co-ordinator said ‘We’re so excited to be able to bring the Tech Swindon Summit together to support and promote our vibrant tech community in Swindon. There are over 9,000 tech workers in the region and bringing them together is a key part of our mission, doing it online just gives us the opportunity to share our knowledge with even more people!”

The core themes of the Tech Swindon Summit are Tech, Talent, Business Resilience and Innovation.

Events cover a broad range of expertise from the use of Secure Cloud WAN to Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity while also speaking to wider world through speakers such as the Global Chief Technology Evangelist at Comptia and more community-focused events like The Annual Techies Awards Evening for the 9,000 local Swindon & Wiltshire tech employees

Events throughout the festival have been crowdsourced from organisations across the town. These include tech companies, public bodies, schools, community groups and charities.

Events are open to people in the tech sector, business leaders from across sectors, visitors wanting to know more about the region, and anyone wanting to know more about the town’s digital industries.

Tech Swindon is a Switch on to Swindon Initiative with the mission to bring together the region’s vast tech community.

The Tech Swindon Summit is made possible thanks to sponsors & partners including Catalent, Nationwide, Swindon & Wiltshire LEP, TechSPARK and Swindon Borough Council.
