Good Energy, the renewable power company, has been new headquarters in Chippenham which is expected to create dozens of new jobs. The announcement came at a meeting of Wiltshire Council’s strategic planning committee.
The positive decision means Good Energy can finalise its plans for a new purpose-built, sustainable headquarters at Sadlers Mead, next to Chippenham railway station.
The company has been based in Chippenham for the past 20 years, and employs over 300 people in the town. The application was joint submitted late last year with Wiltshire Council, and includes Council plans for a new car park.
Sustainability will be at the heart of the new headquarters with solar panels, battery storage and electric vehicle charging points all planned. Extra desk space will also allow for future growth and expansion.

The planned investment will allow us to grow as a company, while creating a modern and energy efficient building. Having supported the growth of renewable energy in the UK for years, we are excited to develop a building which truly reflects our values.”
Construction on the building will start this year and is slated for completion in 2020.
